  In this unit, students explore how changing technology affected people’s lives in the past.
• Significant People & Places Unit
  In this unit, students examine the history and connections of people and places significant to their local community.

• Biological Sciences Unit (Not in version 9 curriculum)
  In this unit, students explore how living things grow, change and have offspring similar to themselves.
• Chemical Science Unit
  In this unit, students recognise that materials can be changed physically and explore the effect of different actions.
• Earth & Space Unit
  In this unit, students recognise Earth is a planet in the solar system and identify patterns in the changing positions of celestial objects (version 9) or explore how Earth’s resources are used in a variety of ways (version 8.4).
• Physical Science Unit
  In this unit, students explore how sound is produced and recognise that sound energy causes objects to vibrate (version 9) or explore how an object moves or changes shape due to being pushed or pulled (version 8.4).
