In this unit, students learn  about 5 different organisation types of informational texts (Description, Cause & Effect, Problem & Solution, Compare & Contrast and Sequence). After examining and writing the different types, the unit finishes with a research project into an animal with all 5 types of organisation included.


 ✩It is a 10-week unit (~10 lessons) that contains all lesson resources including templates and posters with prompts for further practice during the year.


✩ The editable planners includes relevant Australian Curriculum links. Includes a planner for version 8.4 and version 9 of the Australian Curriculum.


✩To keep lessons simple and succinct, the planner features five to six steps for each lesson. Units include worksheets but there is not one for every lesson. Teachers need to use their own skill to ensure the lessons remain explicit and teaching opportunities are not missed.
