Description
In this unit, students learn learn to write different types of poems including acrostic, alphabet, limerick, haiku, cinquain, shape, quatrain and simile while utilising metaphors, onomatopoeia, allusion, hyperbole, alliteration and idioms.
✩It is a 10-week unit (~10 lessons) that contains all lesson resources including templates and posters.
✩ The editable planners includes relevant Australian Curriculum links. Includes a planner for version 8.4 and version 9 of the Australian Curriculum.
✩To keep lessons simple and succinct, the planner features five to six steps for each lesson. Units include worksheets but there is not one for every lesson. Teachers need to use their own skill to ensure the lessons remain explicit and teaching opportunities are not missed.
