In this Place Value Maths Program students recognise, model, read, write and order, group, partition, and rearrange numbers to 1000. They also investigate number sequences.
This resources contains four maths programs (~20 lessons) and features fun, engaging, educational and cooperative learning strategies for teaching place value to year 2 students.
To keep lessons simple and succinct, the planner features five to six steps for each lesson. My maths programs may include worksheets but there is not one for every lesson. Teachers need to use their own skill to ensure the lessons remain explicit and teaching opportunities are not missed.

Number & Algebra:
- Investigate number sequences, initially those increasing and decreasing by twos, threes, fives and then from any starting point, ten moving to other sequences (ACMNA026)
- Recognise, model, represent and order numbers to at least 1000 (ACMNA027)
- Group, partition and rearrange collections up to 1000 in hundreds, tens and ones to facilitate more efficient counting (ACMNA028)
